Mary McCann Stone

Board Member

Mary McCann Stone works in the import/export area of a specialty chemical company in Parsippany.
Although Mary earned a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in English with a minor in secondary education from Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA, a chance meeting with a Japanese businessman set her on the path to international trade.  Teaching English will have to wait until retirement.

Before moving to Somerset in 2006, Mary lived in Green Brook with her husband and twin daughters for 26 years where she was a member of Green Brook's Cultural, Heritage and History Preservation committee.

Although born a "Jersey Girl", she immediately became a "Southern Belle" due to her father's job transfer to Nashville, Tennessee where she grew up.  Upon her return to the Garden State, it took awhile for her to realize that "The War of Northern Aggression" was the same thing as "The Civil War"- thus began her interest in all things historical, including a very old house in Green Brook.

Mary has been a member of the Arts and Culture Committee for a year or so where the Southern Belle in her insists on providing a 'civilized tea" after the Fireside Chats.

Other interests are downhill skiing, following her brother's bagpipe band and keeping track of the goings and comings of her extended Irish-American clan.
